Send the exact item link and specifications to your tailor before ordering. Confirm usable width and your intended design together.
How much fabric is needed for a shalwar kameez?
There is no single suit length that works for every body size, fabric width and design. A taller kameez, a fuller shalwar, pattern placement or additional details can change the cutting plan. Ask for an assessment using your measurements and the exact cloth rather than following a general online number.
For a concrete comparison, Gul Ahmed lists Aurengzaib Latha as a narrower, longer cotton piece and Gul 900 Galaxy as a wider, shorter wash & wear piece. Those dimensions are product specifications, not a claim that either one will fit every customer. Your tailor must confirm the usable width and any preparation allowance.
Separate fabric category, composition and season
A category such as cotton, blended or wash & wear helps narrow a search. Composition tells you which fibres are actually stated. Season is another question: look for an explicit supplier description, then assess the weight and feel for your routine. Do not assume every product in a broad collection shares the same specifications.
For a summer kurta, discuss coverage and the amount of room for movement. For a winter shalwar kameez, tell the tailor what you will layer underneath or over it. When a listing does not state a season, ask the seller rather than inferring it from colour or price.
A checklist before buying unstitched fabric online
Read the exact product description and selected colour or variant. Retailer prices, stock and offers change, so check those on the live shop rather than using a figure quoted in a blog. An online image is a reference for colour; ask about a sample if the shade or texture is especially important to you.
Keep the purchase record, specifications and care instructions. Review the seller's current return conditions before any preparation or cutting, since changing the fabric may affect your options. Contact the seller directly for delivery and product questions.
- Exact product name, selected variant and stated fibre composition.
- Fabric length, usable width and whether pieces are separate or continuous.
- Any supplier instructions for shrinkage, preparation and ongoing care.
- Your measurements, preferred garment lengths, fullness and details.
- Seller delivery timing plus separately confirmed tailoring availability.
Bring your fabric to Shahzad Tailors in Kot Addu
Share the link before buying or bring the fabric to our atelier in Anar Kali Market, Main Bazaar, Kot Addu. Discuss your preferred collar, sleeves and fit, then confirm the required material and quote with the team. A product purchase from another retailer and a stitching inquiry with us are separate arrangements.
Once the fabric is chosen, a fitting can settle the details that the listing cannot: comfortable movement, garment length and your preferred silhouette. Keep time for any agreed fitting or adjustment before a special occasion. A website message prepares an inquiry; the team confirms the order and delivery date directly.
